I have been looking forward to Mackenzie and Matt’s wedding all summer and it did not disappoint. These two put together a beautiful whimsical estate wedding at the stunning Willowdale Estate venue in Topsfield Massachusetts.
Mackenzie is an event planner, so I know she was going to plan every aspect of their day beautifully! From the lush cream and white florals to the greenery climbing the tent poles to the shades of blue, it was perfection. Leading up to the wedding day the forecast was looking wonderful until we hit the 48 hour window. It still wasn’t looking horrible, just a 30-40% chance of thunderstorms. When I arrived and started getting ready details, we had some thunder and a small passing shower and then the sun came back out.
As it got closer and closer to ceremony time, the sky kept getting darker and darker. The venue coordinator was amazing and was keeping everyone on the same page as to what the plans were as the radar kept changing every 30 seconds. Mackenzie wanted to hold the ceremony outside, so they delayed the ceremony 15 minutes in hopes the storm would pass. Well it did, but the ceremony started about 30 minutes late. Luckily the venue could easily accommodate their 185 guests inside while everyone waited for the storm to pass. And I mean, I am so glad they kept with the outdoor ceremony because it was absolutely stunning!
Not to mention, once the band started playing, the real party started! It was an absolutely beautiful whimsical estate wedding!
