When I met Hallie & Justin for their engagements this past winter, they were the kindest most fun loving people! I left their session feeling so exciting for their wedding this summer! They planned a coastal backyard wedding at her’s parent’s home and to say it was beautiful was an understatement!
For July, the weather was breezy and 79 and not an ounce of humidity! Talk about lucky for a middle of the summer wedding in July! They both got ready in the house which looked out onto the backyard and beyond that you could see the water!
After their ceremony we headed down to the dock for some amazing golden hour photos. Then they were able to enjoy the second half of their cocktail hour! They didn’t do a first look, but did an extended cocktail hour so they could still mingle and have some delicious snacks from Smoke and Pickles.
Not to mention their friends and family were so beyond kind it was such a day full of love! Hallie’s dad mentioned something during his toast that stood out to me. I was talking to him and his wife and I asked them how long they had been married. They said they had celebrated their 30th anniversary just the week prior. He told me the same thing he told everyone else that day, that your partner is the most important person/relationship in your life. As life goes on, your partner is always there and when all is said and done, that relationship is most important. They said your kids will grow up and leave, and at the end of the day, your partner is still there. And I so loved that they shared that with me.
Just as I was about to leave, I checked in with Hallie and Justin and they said they were all set for the night! But just as I was packing up, a firework went off from the dock. I quickly pulled out my camera again and snapped a few photos of the firework display her family put on!
These backyard weddings are certainly becoming favorites of mine, and this coastal backyard wedding was one for the books!
