Newport Rhode Island is a big wedding destination and this past weekend’s chic downtown Newport wedding was one for the books! I feel like I have been looking forward to Abbey and Paul’s wedding day for so long and it did not dissapoint.
Their wedding ceremony was held the the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel on the Salve Campus in Newport Rhode Island. From the wedding ceremony we took a trolley into downtown Newport to do photos and head to their wedding reception.
When Abbey and Paul, chose their wedding date, there was not a weekend festival planned. But it turns out their wedding weekend was the same as the Newport Chowder and Oyster Festival. Not only was the weather perfect, but add a chowder festival and downtown Newport was overflowing with tourists.
We had to make our way through hundreds of people to get to the docks on Bowen’s Wharf. Abbey and Paul were like celebrities! The crowds were splitting so we could walk through and there was lots of cheering and clapping! I mean they looked incredible!
We actually did their wedding photos on almost the same dock we did their engagement photos on! But the light was great and we were able to escape the crowds for a few minutes!
Their wedding reception was held at the Clarke Cooke House which is not really a wedding venue. They hosted Abbey and Paul’s wedding incredibly and the staff was so accommodating and kind. The energy this couple and their guests’ had was so fun I was so sad when my coverage came to an end.
Truly loved being a part of this chic downtown Newport wedding!
